Computers haven’t changed the way we travel. We still get around in cars, boats and planes essentially unchanged since the 1960s. Most importantly, they aren’t any faster. All computers have done is change the way we buy tickets for some of these.
How is it that we have advanced in technology so far that while virtually everyone now has instant access to fact check anything that anyone says, that there is more false information than ever before and large groups of people believing it.

The information is not unlimited. You only get what they have not restricted and it is unfiltered and unproven.
