Israel is radicalizing Palestinians. Surgical strikes on Hamas would make more sense, not this wholesale slaughter.

Well, the US has been supplying weapons to Israel (as has Germany and other countries), which is a foothold for the US in the Middle East, especially after Iranians deposed the US-installed Shah. That supply of weapons has been a constant of US foreign policy under both Democratic and Republican administrations, with each party trying to outdo each other in the competition over who’s more pro-Israel. And that annual contribution to Israel has continued even after Israel, which has its own nuclear fuel reprocessing plant, developed and stockpiled its own nuclear weapons (which the US still has not acknowledged, although it is an open secret) and its own defense industry, which itself exports weapons and is a player in the global arms market. The US should have stopped its military aid to Israel long ago, but arms sales are an addiction, and the money and weapons the US supplies largely benefits American weapons manufacturers (by law, if I’m not mistaken). Ike was absolutely correct in his 1961 farewell speech, when he warned:

“…In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sough or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The danger for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist.”

Netanyahu’s continued use of weapons in Gaza is unconscionable. The excuse that Israel is defending itself against Hamas is hollow, given that Netanyahu encouraged Qatar to aid Hamas for many years.

Y’know, they castiagated Chuck Schumer for “meddling in the affairs” of Israel. But we give SO MUCH money and armaments to them we OUGHT to have some say, don’t you think?

Regardless of the Hamas attack(s) and Israel’s counteroffensive, the World Court has ordered Israel to take all necessary and effective action to ensure basic food supplies to the enclave’s Palestinian population and halt spreading famine. Israel denies these accusations.

after being mocked for going so meekly to the shower gas chambers, meek as that crucified prophet they tacked the King of the Jews label on, Israel’s outsize response to Hamas could be seen as its delayed & substituted “hold my Manishevitz” to Germany, displaced onto a population of innocents in Gaza, as unarmed & powerless as they themselves were in the 1940’s.

Not an unfair question. Why are we saying that the IDF needs to stop, yet making sure they have the weapons they need to continue? It’s not just hypocrisy, it’s complicity.

At this point in time, with the current leadership and the current strategy of “we’re going to defeat every Hamas fighter even if we have to kill every person in Gaza with bombs, bullets or famine”, I do NOT support providing anymore military funding or weapons.

Umm.. from the all knowing Google… “Israel had financed the creation of Palestinian militant group Hamas”.

To keep your people “nervous” it helps to have an enemy. Much like the Americans (trumps republicans) demonize those brown people.

Swap out Netanyahoo for Trump and see out future. Remember: He wanted the military to shoot protesters in the wake of the George Floyd murder, but January 6th rioters are patriots.

Nationalism may have had some benefit at some time, but now it is almost entirely harmful. There’s no essential difference between Israelis and Palestinians. We are all just people, trying to make the best of life while it lasts.

I just read we are supplying Israel with $2.5bln worth of more weapons. Enough is enough. How can our country condone what Israel is doing….the extermination of the Palestinian people. Children are dying daily of starvation, humanitarian aid is being blocked from entering Gaza, and people are being killed for just being Palestinian. Israel is going against all international rules of war. And we still back them!! Unbelieveable and heartbreaking!!

He didn’t. Congress did. And the weapons are for defense of Israel, per agreements made since 1948. Not for new settlements in lands deemed off limits in those agreements.

We couldn’t execute surgical strikes in Nam when we were standing beside the Cong, because we couldn’t tell them from regular people. It’s the foundation of Hamas’ strategy. It works great- fools the kids who now pick on American Jews and blame Biden.
