Yeah. I really dunno what happened to make “the world” so divided of late. Let’s compare and contrast:
Hamas was evidently a (normal) political party that had some angry and noisy, right-wing fringe members that gained control over, and advanced an agenda that resulted in violence.
Does it not follow that the GOP, which was a similarly (normal) political party that some angry and noisy, right-wing fringe members have gained control over, and advanced an agenda that has, and will continue to, result in violence?
Loud, again: fringe proponents will tune their manifesto to the losers in their “market” for $upporters, and drown out rational thoughts that might lead to a compromise. If, however, a society refuses to compromise, it only enables the advancement of those fringe proponents.
It is the societal response to that violence that differs. The Israeli response was somewhat understandable, although over-the-top. The US’s response was muted – find and arrest the perpetrators, charge them in a court of law, and imprison them for terms commensurate with their deeds.
That neither side has eliminated the fringe leaders is worrisome . . .

Hamas using civilian meat shields is a fact not a talking point. One of the IDFs latest operations was clearing out a hospital floor by floor and room by room of Hamas terrorists in a running gun fight. Of course using civilian buildings as a military base is a war crime which Hamas does on a continuing basis. The Jew hating leftists here gives them a pass because while they pile on Israel I haven’t seen them criticize Hamas for this. Goph lies again on aid as, since October, America has sent over $180 million consisting of food, health, nutrition, shelter, protection, and water, sanitation, and hygiene assistance to Gaza.
