I don’t remember what the circumstances were, but there was a night in 1996(?) When, I thing the moon and sun were aligned on the opposite side of the earth, and this could be done. For about 6 minutes it was possible. I took a photo of it too. So, it’s possible, but I don’t know about the equinoxes, I’ll try it out next fall. But if so, I’m sure it has to be done at a certain time.
