Obviously doing all they can to help the guy who made the “Conservatives” the majority for a generation, so they can enact their extremist agenda without any thought to what the Constitution actually stands for.
They can work QLAB (Quick Like A Bunny) when its for the Big Boss, but (tsk) not so much when the Big Boss needs ’his hand-picked Federalist Society obediently slow-walks.
Jack Smith requested that the SC take up this issue in December 2023 because of its criticality for the nation’s future. We see they have responded, as the RW tools they are.
Why is it that Clarence Thomas can accept hundreds and hundreds of thousands of dollars in gifts from people who appear before the court and Fani Willis cannot go dutch on a dinner?
Seems the Supreme Court has two speed, one for democrat issues and one for republicans issues. You can bet a doughnut if this were Joe the decision would be made in.. two days, tops.
The immunity decision will be decided at the polls in November. The judges have no desire to decide on this any time soon. The closer we get to November, the less likely it will be resolved, because the Court won’t want to “politicize” the decision before an election.
The way SCOTUS has phrased it, the immunity they might grant would be for actions (aka crimes) that are within the obligations of the office. That would eliminate any chance of putting a hit on anyone and getting a get-out-of-jail-free card.
What we have to worry about is when the Dotard “protects the union” by declaring anyone and everyone who dares to not love him publicly and constantly an enemy of the state, and demands that we all be rounded up and sent to “re-education camps”. We could all be the equivalent of China’s Uighurs. And it might be legal.
Make sure you vote. And make sure everyone you know votes. Staying home is likely to be a prologue to surrender.
It only took them three days to hand it to W. Bush, when Gore won the election in 2020. There seems to be a trend with a conservative Supreme court. It’s like they don’t care about rule of law, or liberty and justice for all, as much as installing the USA’s first dictator.
Of course, they don’t want to rule that presidents don’t have ultimate immunity from committing crimes, until they can install an Orange Traitor as President. After all, then they would be giving Biden unbridled rule his last year as president. What I’m wondering, is how they are going to word it that only an Orange Traitor gets this privilege and how they can rule against Biden for crimes he didn’t commit, but Orange Traitor will accuse him of anyway?
Common, USA. We need to be better not to allow that.
Vote Democratic up and Down the ticket and stop Republican tyranny!
Remember, the Supreme Court does NOT define “guilt” or “innocence” – that is not now, nor has it ever been their job – they interpret the Constitution.

They seldom do real work. Their speed is glacial to match how quick they are on the uptake.

The Republican Supreme Court is doing what it can to prevent Trump from EVER being accountable for any of his crimes.
Just like “judge” Cannon.

Hey, Clarence has a tip jar, too.

Unless the defendant is looking for a speedy trial, what’s the issue? The Constitution does not grant the right to speedy justice to the prosecutors.

They are stalling to make the voters decide and take themselves out of the decision.
