Remember, wave action and earth movement are not covered in standard homeowner’s insurance, unless you have added earthquake and flood coverages to your policy, both expensive and both have high deductibles. We once had a home in the California desert and the flood premium went from $100 per year to several thousand for a mobile home worth about $150K. Fortunately for us the low area that flooded whenever we got a Seattle rain was “over there” so we self insured. Our unit was on the San Andreas fault with tremors about 6 times a day, but our unit “floated” on the sand. No foundation other than jack stands on wooden pads.
SoKal got hit harder than us up north, we saw 3” of rain since Friday. It was the wind that hit us in the Mother Load, upwards of 65mph Sunday. Thankfully damage was much lighter than the Monster Storm over New Years in 2023, we lost 9 oak trees in that mess. We are still cleaning up that nightmare. Stay Safe Everyone.

And please stop making golf courses in Arizona with grass (that needs to be watered. In a desert…). Stupid.

So, can we call the drought over.. and, will our vegetables get cheaper now that they have water.

The veggies will be bruised, what with going over waterfalls without a barrel…..

California is a land of extremes. We’re used to it. You don’t see people fleeing the Gulf coast over hurricanes or tornadoes.
