One tiny loser with a single AR-15 scared over 60 armed police officers. That’s the power of the AR-15. So why in the holy hell are Republicans and the NRA and every Russian troll demanding that no AR-style assault rifles be banned? Nobody should be able to own one. They serve 0 purpose other than to massacre a high number of people in a short amount of time. Made sense when they were designed to be used by the military in a war. We need a return of the 1990s assault rifle ban which Republicans cowardly let end. It worked as massacres decreased and then exploded when it ended.

Most police recruits here in Texas, are home-town boys, many with a chip on their shoulder, want to play supersoldier, and barely have a high school diploma.Bravery and battle training don’t just magically soak in when they pin a badge on.There are some good, intelligent officers here, but not nearly enough to raise their overall competence.

Maybe cops should update that oath and add, “but only if my kid is involved.”

Or maybe they could match the law enforcement officer’s oath with the supreme court oath, and say they should try to protect and save people.
