He might end up losing. The friendly fire deaths of his soldiers won’t endear him to many.

    From the BBC:

Within Israel, an increasingly unpopular prime minister is falling back on the far-right that props up his government.

The White House has said the United States and Israel “clearly see things differently”

A recent poll found that just 15% of Israelis want him to keep his job after the war.

And while most Israelis continue to support military action against Hamas, the majority now say they want to prioritise bringing the remaining 130 or so hostages home, over the potentially impossible aim of destroying Hamas.

His latest comments on a future Palestinian state are also a repudiation of Arab attempts to mediate in the conflict.

Saudi Arabia has dangled before him the prize of normalising ties with Israel as part of a ceasefire deal that includes a two-state solution.

But Israel’s prime minister seems to have staked his political survival on a hard-line anti-Palestinian position.

No longer can he sell himself as “Mr Security” after the worst attacks in Israel’s history happening under his watch.

Now it’s “Mr No Independent Palestine”: a position he believes will chime with the public mood here that, while increasingly out of love with its prime minister, is still too traumatised to conceive of a Palestinian state next door.

As I posted a couple of months ago:

    Palestina delenda est! Benjamin Netanyahu

    Israel delenda est! Hamas

Martin Luther explains that God and government are not constrained by the commandment not to kill, but that God has delegated his authority in punishing evildoers to the government. The prohibition of killing is forbidden to the individual in his relation to anyone else, and not to the government. (Wikipedia so ……)

    Matthew 5-7

22 But I tell you that anyone who is angry with a brother or sister[b]© will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to a brother or sister, ‘Raca,’[d] is answerable to the court. And anyone who says, ‘You fool!’ will be in danger of the fire of hell.

23 “Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother or sister has something against you, 24 leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to them; then come and offer your gift.

25 “Settle matters quickly with your adversary who is taking you to court. Do it while you are still together on the way, or your adversary may hand you over to the judge, and the judge may hand you over to the officer, and you may be thrown into prison. 26 Truly I tell you, you will not get out until you have paid the last penny.

    OMG

I don’t object to Israel “defending itself” against Hamas. But after losing 1,200 people in an extreme way, they killed tens of thousands who are not guilty of anything by indiscriminately bombing civilian areas. People who maybe did not die in the horrific way the Israelis did, but being burned ito death in your home is horrific enough. There has to be a more “surgical” way of getting at the leaders of Hamas without killing so many; getting at the tunnels without destroying hospitals and homes. In the process, if there were Palestinians not radicalized before, Israel’s actions are creating another generation of those wanting to destroy Israel.

Airstrikes in Yemen by USA and the UK. Election years in those countries too. What a remarkable coincidence.

Time and time again the leaders of the Jewish people turn away from God the Father, and time after time He chastises them to bring them back!

Romans 21: 21 Thou therefore which teachest another, teachest thou not thyself? thou that preachest a man should not steal, dost thou steal? 22 Thou that sayest a man should not commit adultery, dost thou commit adultery? thou that abhorrest idols, dost thou commit sacrilege? 23 Thou that makest thy boast of the law, through breaking the law dishonourest thou God?

This would have been a better cartoon if it had been for his quote that there would never be a Palestinian state allowed on his watch. That’s been Israel’s entire problem this whole war. Nobody believed that they weren’t going to flatten the entirety of Gaza and then after running every Palestinian off, declare it Israel’s and build settlements all over the place. If Palestinians (not Hamas but regular people) don’t have a voice in their own government, Israel is going to be in a world of trouble as will we because the odds of WW3 increase markedly.
