I am danged tired of this continual abrogation of congress’ Constitutional duties. As soon as the Constitutional time limit passes, congress should be locked inside the Capitol and their pay forfeit until they pass a budget as required by the Constitution.

I dislike the implication that both sides are alike. Improvement of the lives of ordinary Americans has mostly happened when the government is overwhelmingly made up of Democrats. A prime example: Social Security and Medicare would never have happened if the GQP had enough representation in Congress at that time to stop them.

It is either dishonest or misinformed to equate the Republican and Democratic parties. A person who runs for office has to choose. In reality, the choice will probably be for the party that will support them.. The Republicans vote and work for the rich, working on the notion that giving rich folks money will cause it to “trickle down” and improve the whole society. At least that’s what they say. I don’t think they really believe it themselves, and it has never worked anywhere it has been tried.

And, the Democratic party represents the middle class, and votes that way in congress. Granted, they are not doing a terrific job, largely because the Republicans are working really hard to prevent them from doing any good, but they are at least trying. Both parties are going to choose to throw their ample support behind the candidate that at least says they agree with the goals that make up the party platform.

There are a lot more middle class voters than rich ones, so the Republicans can only win if they keep as many people from voting as possible and the rest confused enough to vote against their own best interests. That requires a lot of cheating and lying.

Consequently, the Democrats lie less and are more honorable than Republicans, because they can be. Not that that’s a very high bar.

Corporate Dems = Rep Lite. Liberal cycles are severely shortened because of this.

It must be noted here that keeping the government up and running is basically a House of Representatives job…

The senate just looks over the work the House does and either approves or disapproves it – very little ORIGINATES in the Senate.

The House controls the “purse strings” and the “purse strings” controls the government, which is WHY the idiocy of the G.O.P. in the house is so galling.

End the madness, vote Democratic up and down the ticket like your freedom depends on it! Because, it does!

The Media has to stop the decades of always letting Republicans and their pundits set the narrative.

For example: ‘Crisis at the border’ is the wrong narrative. The right narrative is ‘Republicans have refused to even entertain comprehensive immigration reform for decades’
