I grant you that there are good reasons to end a pregnancy. I know a woman who found herself totally without any support system ( aged out of foster care) and pregnant when she had a scholarship and no way to hire a babysitter so she could attend college. She got the abortion and wound up teaching college, rather than the waitressing job she had and probably would have done her whole life if she had the baby. The children she finally had grew up with a father and enough money to live a middle class life. I hate the idea of abortion, but when birth control doesn’t work, it doesn’t make sense to allow it to ruin your life and that of the child and any others that you may have later.

1st. Abortion. Next, contraception. Then, female health care?

We have one last, best chance to right the good ship civilization. By turning out in similar (if not larger) to the MAGA base (who will crawl over broken glass to vote). And voting blue, no matter who! In 2016, 49% of eligible voters didn’t bother to vote on Election Day. And a certain percentage of voters who did vote voted for either Jill Stein (Green) or Gary Johnson (Libertarian). If even half of the non-voters (and third party voters) had turned out and voted for Hillary Clinton in 2016, she may have won the electoral vote as well as the popular vote. We need to keep the White House and the Senate democratic (and win back the House). If only for the fact that Thomas and/or Alito will either fall ill or retire so a (Democratic) President can appoint replacements to be confirmed by a (Democratic majority) Senate and we can start rebalancing the court.

I have to say, as an individual living north of 49, I, and many others, are gobsmacked at what is going down in your nation. Every country has its issues and its political ups and downs but America takes the cake. Here, we sit and watch, and wonder how it will all unfold. I will offer no opinion other than, I hope your Republic survives.

Preach it, Jen. I marched for abortion rights in the 80s. I never thought we’d be going backward. It’s insane.

An alternate timeline where you can kill your child with impunity. Democrats want infanticide for any reason.
