I dunno. Maybe they have already handed the reins over to their product?

For those wondering, the OpenAI board ousted the CEO in a rather chaotic manner. It’s probably more about personal conflicts than anything about the tech vison. OpenAI is basically funded by Microsoft & the former CEO is now a Microsoft employee.

I saw someone pointing out that insurance companies using AI to deny claims is far more likely than the Terminator in our immediate future.

LOL. It’s truly artificial. It has no soul. Just better fake videos for useless evil doers. Doubt the AI spellcheck is any better than 10 years ago. And this AI company!? LOL. What a bunch of turkeys.

What were the main concerns of the AI board? Must… have… diversity…

Okay…so the board was created when it was a non-profit, not restructured when a for-profit subsidiary, and the latest is the CEO is back and some of the board is being dismissed.

    Drama!!!

I clicked the button to get an AI answer while googling on two occasions and got the most ridiculous answers you could imagine. One was how to get to the main entrance of a local hospital that had been remodeled since I had last been there. AI told me to get onto an interstate that is one hundred fifty miles from here. It didn’t get any better after that. I don’t think were in any immediate danger of AI taking over the world.

Hmmm. Not sure the Board went about it the right way, but keeping the “safety aspect” of AI in mind sounds reasonable. Personally, I never trust an entrepreneur to do anything that will have a profound impact on mankind without some real oversight (AI definitely falls into that category) – they’re always too busy making a profit…
