When the Natural Look first came out many moons ago, it took me 35 minutes (best time!) and multiple products to look as though I was wearing no makeup at all. I now wear powder and brow pencil, and that’s IT!
I hardly ever wear makeup at all. When I do, it takes only the slightest effort (foundation, eyeliner and lipstick, nothing else) and everyone compliments me on how great I look. Make life easier on yourself, ladies! Keep their expectations low!
People who work at some cosmetics counters are trained to make women feel insecure. I used to laugh, not being the least bit insecure, as they would tell me ridiculous things — like being very young and being told I needed to buy a $50 cream because she could see vertical lines on my lips (like very old people get) — I just laughed out loud. Someone tried to sell me $40 mascara, saying that my drugstore mascara that I used for years was damaging my (extremely long and thick natural upper and lower) lashes and they were going to fall off. I told her that she should be buying my mascara since I had five times the lashes she did.
I never did understand why some women would put on so many layers of makeup that they ended up looking like painted ladies – and I don’t mean the colourful Victorian houses in San Francisco. My wife has always preferred the natural look and spends a little time applying makeup. I cannot tell the difference and have suggested she just skip the makeup. That did not go over well for some reason.
We did not get the heavy rain that was predicted but did see a little lightning overnight. Hopefully they will lower the level of the water in the lake soon (they being the government department responsible for water levels in the lakes and rivers in this area. That is not a job I would want – keep the water level too low and the marinas complain. Too high and the property owners (like me) complain. Anyhow, enjoy this fine Sunday.
So the salesperson just applies the makeup comic Cathy never requested, without asking? If I were in Cathy’s shoes, I’d be walking away without paying—or, ideally, bopping the woman for assuming I want the stuff. And then I’d drown myself in (◔_◔)s! (All in good fun … I know it’s just a comic.) : )

The only time I cared about makeup was when I wasn’t allowed to wear it! Lol! Now I only wear a little makeup on special occasions.
