Biden just helped out the Iranians in a 5 for 5 prisoner swap, the bonus being $6 billion in previously “frozen Iranian assets” (had to make that clear for a leftist who had trouble understanding the concept yesterday) repatriated to Iran. What a negotiator!

We had a beginning. The Agreement Obama made with the Iranians was not perfect, but it was a beginning. It should have been ratified by the Senate, but Mitch McConnell was not going to let that happen, was he? No matter how good, or bad the treaty was made no difference. McConnell was not going to allow Obama another diplomatic win.
So Obama did the best he could, and we made an agreement with them. It was a beginning.
And then Donald Trump pulled the rug out from under it. He destroyed all chances of diplomatic contact with Iran.
And now we have no way of pulling them back from the edge short of war.
Because of Donald Trump. The idiot.
If, by some miracle, Donald Trump escapes prison and the Republicans foolishly allow him the candidacy remember, what Trump wants is war with Iran. No matter what.
I wonder how critical Mr Ramirez would be about returning Iran’s money via Qatar if his relatives/friends were detained. [“Iran initially wanted direct access to the funds but in the end agreed to having access via Qatar,” said a senior diplomat. “Iran will purchase food and medicine and Qatar will pay directly.”]
The potential transfer has drawn Republican criticism that Biden, a Democrat, is in effect paying ransom for U.S. citizens. But Blinken told reporters on Aug 10 the deal does not mean that Iran would be getting any sanctions relief, explaining that Washington would continue to push back “resolutely against Iran’s destabilising activities in the region”.
The waiver applies to certain financial institutions that fall under the primary jurisdiction of Germany, Ireland, Qatar, South Korea and Switzerland to engage in transactions with the National Iranian Oil Company, the Central Bank of Iran and other Iranian financial institutions under U.S. sanctions, it added.
Just saw something, 3.48% of America’s GDP goes to the Military. It spends more money than anyone else, yet nearly twice as much 6.9% goes to entertainment. Something’s wrong here, that makes this toon true today. Just about anyone can just say hey look and get people to look the other way.
