I see Rall’s point, which is cute.

But this doesn’t feel at all like how I currently imagine the orange error would react to being called as a witness. Rather, I imagine him immediately starting to roll the BS out of his mouth almost free-association style as he does, complaining that it’s unfair, illegal and wrong… and that he’s protecting his followers and fighting the good fight and blah blah blah. Which at some point the judge would interrupt and enforce “answer the question”. I have NO IDEA how he’d react to that. It would be fun to watch, but I’m sure there won’t be cameras allowed.

“You can shake an apple off an apple tree

    Shake-a, shake, sugar

    But you’ll never shake Trump

    Uh-uh-uh

    No-sir-ee, uh, uh

    He’s gonna stick like glue…"

If former guy takes the stand, the over/under on how long it takes for him to commit perjury is about six minutes.

Actually I believe that former Presidents ARE entitled to be addressed as “Mr President”

Here’s a thought. — Grill Drumpf like Tom Holland’s character in “The Crowded Room” episode 10, so they can claim not guilty by reason of insanity. Snark!

This is another one of Ted’s great podcast quotes on military officers: “Being really successful and rising through the ranks as I think any who has been in the military will tell you, does not necessarily make you a good person. Um, lotsa people have been very successful and, you know, scum rises to the top, and you suck up to the right people, and that’s especially true in the officer corps. I mean, you know sometimes the very best people are discriminated against because they are the very best people, and the very worst people rise to the top because they are the very worst people.” I’ve heard him and Stanti, pretty say the same kinda stuff, when they don’t win a cartooning award…………………………whoof!!!!

Off topic a bit, but, Why hasnt the military taken action against Gen Flynn, who took the 5th on question about supporting the constitution? The Army can both reinstate then court martial him

“I want to remind you that it is a crime to try to influence a juror or to threaten or attempt to bribe a witness or any other person who may have information about your case, or to retaliate against anyone for providing information about your case to the prosecution, or to otherwise obstruct the administration of justice.”

The judge then warned Trump: “You have heard your conditions of release. It is important you comply. You may be held pending trial in this case if you violate the conditions of release.”

She asked Trump: “Do you understand these warnings and consequence, sir? Are you prepared to comply?”

    Trump responded: “Yes.”

But not 24 hours later, Trump posted on social media a message that could be understood as an attempt to influence potential jurors or retaliate against any witness prepared to testify against him: He wrote: “IF YOU GO AFTER ME, I’M COMING AFTER YOU!”

What I really liked was Trump’s lawyer terming his moves to overturn the election as “aspirational, not criminal”. Now there’s a lawyer who missed a lot of classes in law school…

    From Sam Smith’s ProRev:

Despite the revelation of numerous Trump scandals, he remains essentially tied with Biden. At the end of 2022 our five poll average had Biden one point ahead of Trump. At the end of June 2023 he was tied.

2024 PRESIDENTIAL RACE: BIDEN VS. TRUMPFive poll average: Tie …. June: tie
