In preparation for a trip to the Hague in 2001, newly appointed (by George “W” Bush) Attorney General John Ashcroft sent an advance security team to the American Embassy. According to one report, they found cats in the residence and were concerned that some might be calicos. Ashcroft reportedly dislikes being around calico cats because he believes they are minions of the devil.
Well there you have it. All this climate fear mongering forcing us to get rid of fossil fuels on the belief that we can control the climate. Then when the climate does not bend to the dreams of the left, they claim we waited too long.
Fine. To Hell with all of us. Let’s just stop wasting money on the climate nonsense. Focus on adaptation to the changing climate. It’ll take another4-5 degrees to get back to the average temperature of the earth. Adaptation is evolution’s way of allowing the fittest to survive.
It really saddens me that our country, the USA, the inventors of of so much of alternative energy devices, is behind the world in getting on board with using them. True we have much use of alternative energy, but not enough. We ought to be leading the world, but others are doing that. If we can’t do it because it’s the right thing to do, do it for the money. But, do it.
Now scientists have started talking about staying, not below the 1.5C mark, but the worst case scenario of 3.0C degrees. The scientists have begun to see we’re like the proverbial frog in the warming pot of water. We won’t get out till its too late to get out. Maybe those crazy folks who warned of human extinction in five years weren’t so far from the mark after all. We’re doing it ourselves.
A lot of comments implying that Republican devils are responsible for this, yet there are how many other nations on this planet doing much less. It’s 103 degrees here right now. How many Democrats got their AC cranked up, or traveling in their cars on vacations, or their factories are running? Look in the mirror folks before you judge Republicans.
Ashcroft, who expensively covered up the breasts on a statue at Main Justice, who suspected dancing with own wife to be sinful, was recently rolled out as some sort of rational and elder statesman, anyway compared with Trump’s parade of life’s losers.To give credit though, he refused when very ill to sign a reauthorization for domestic surveillance (Bush & his merry men went ahead without him)
