I get calls from people claiming to be collecting for police charities. The first thing I tell them? “You have ten seconds to prove that you are not a scam artist.” Always results in a hang up.
100 (1923) – Doc, Avery and Bill ponder what to do about the missing Walt (and Skeezix)
80 (1943) – The inspector examines the propellers; plus, war news from this date
75 (1948) – Skeezix repairs the fence
60 (1963) – Chipper questions sister Clovia about the book she sold with his college money in it
45 (1978) – Clovia cleans the apartment in anticipation of her mother-in-law’s arrivalBonus: In the “45 years ago today” story, Nina asks her daughter if she has ever met her mother-in-law. Retcon – Both Clovia and Nina met her back in early 1964 [see attached]
Any answer they gave would probably be considered correct for that sales call, but Napoleon didn’t die in battle. He was in exile on the island of Saint Helena for a little over five years when be became ill and died in May 1821 at the age of 51.
The Mississippi River originates in Minnesota. If flows through Minnesota. East of Hastings, the Saint Croix River flows into the Mississippi. Continuing south from that point, it forms part of the border between Minnesota and Wisconsin. It then forms the borders between other states. The southernmost pair of states is Louisiana and Mississippi, where it forms part of the border. From there, it flows through Louisiana, and into the Gulf of Mexico.
So, ignoring border oddities, Minnesota and Louisiana are the only two states through which the Mississippi flows. Saint Paul, MN, and Baton Rouge, LA, are the two state capitals on the Mississippi.
