I have to agree w/ Rall on this one. The system is designed to perpetuate the power of those in power, and it works better than many of the works of mankind.
Our current president is so cognitively impaired that thinks Putin is waging a war in Iraq instead of Ukraine. He will likely run against a narcissistic former president who has more baggage than Imelda Marcos had shoes. What a sad state of affairs.
If only they’d followed this protocol when Trump ran. After all, he didn’t appear in any polls until AFTER the media started the 24/7 coverage blitz of his joke candidacy.
Hm. no podcast this week, Ted, I’m going to throw you a bone. If there is one place where you are exactly correct, it’s on the matter of abortion, where you point out the life begins at conception, HOWEVER, the woman should have the right to abort. On that, after years of honing my view of the matter, I totally agree with you.
Yup.. the outrageous get the coverage while the sane sensible ones are ignored.. it is a perfect system.. to get a dysfunctional (read republican) government.
Yep, that is the way the system works. The human system, regardless of political views. Every idea in history started with one person. If it was a good idea, and when someone presented that idea well, it grows. If not, it doesn’t grow. If you liked someone’s idea, but most didn’t, you weren’t cheated. Either the person who had the idea didn’t work hard enough, or those who supported that idea didn’t do enough, or it was a lousy idea that only a few fringe people wanted.
RFK benefits from name recognition, not being Biden/too old, and speaking plainly. Unlike Biden, he says what he thinks and is willing to take the heat, and he’s accessible.
I’m not sure he’s left enough for me—I’d rather see someone who understands capitalism is evil—but it’s not hard to see why he’s exceeding expectations despite his many obstacles.
I have been a big fan of Bernie Sanders for many years. Oh, I know he calls himself a “socialist” and the press jumps on this with both feet. But his solutions are the right solutions, both for our time and, the one time we tried them in America, the time when he would have been considered a mainstream Democrat, the FDR years.
He is not a socialist but is instead a New Dealer through and through (as am I, one of the last of our breed). But he does not suffer from any lack of press coverage but from a lack of fairness in his press coverage. They do not publish what he actually says and advocates. Instead they publish — pretty much exclusively — what his opponents and adversaries say about him and his proposals.
During the 2020 Democratic primary campaign when he was the clear frontrunner, on one day the Washington Post’s top-level web page (their “Front Page,” so to speak) had no fewer than FIFTEEN headlines to articles all critical of Bernie Sanders — all con, no pro AT ALL.

Imagine a world where we actually voted for who we wanted instead of voting against those we don’t want. What would America look like?

Debates are useless. Each one trying to get a jab at the other. Well, not all candidates…..

This is probably true and as such it means that some candidates, that might be the best of the lot, will have little chance of getting elected.

…says the media commentator who obsessively focuses on Biden and Trump, the two front-runners.
If you really believe this, where are all your Vivek Ramaswamy and Doug Burgum cartoons?
