Fat free does not mean sugar free. I compared a “fat free” yogurt to some Hersey’s Kisses. It would have taken 11 Hersey’s Kisses to equal the one small yogurt.

I tend to agree with Mom… I cooked a non-healthified, authentic pumpkin pie from last month without cutting any corners and it tasted awesome!

Good morning all. Sadly I know all about the lack of willpower. Especially this time of year!

Good morning hendelca, SUSAN NEWMAN, Shyygirl27, lightenup, GretchensMom, scaredycatsarge10, Veridian, mollie05 any visitor to this comic!

I once heard that a relative of mine (a great uncle or something like that) lived on a farm that I think had livestock and such… he lived into his 80s/90s still doing farm work, from what I remember. So perhaps the quality of ingredients makes a difference, alongside exercise!

Go full fat! Everything in moderation and you’ll probably be more satisfied and actually eat less…

Susan, you’re eagle eye caught a major change in this strip — Mom without her apron! I can’t remember ever seeing her without it. Thanksgiving holiday food shopping must be special indeed for Cathy’s Mom!

I bet that apron is still safely in place – under the coat!

I’m running late today, but I do agree with SplendensPluviaNemus and most others. As long as we eat food that is close to what nature made (without mankind’s help), I think we’re fine. And maybe pork lard isn’t the best for us, but if we substitute a healthier oil for it, that’s fine too. In fact, just today we went grocery shopping and one of the items on the list was vanilla extract. I made a point of telling Jr and Lil that we’re going to buy only pure vanilla extract, not imitation. And I read the ingredients list of the imitation one, the third ingredient was some chemical, which made Lil ask “What’s that??” I laughed and answered, “Exactly! If you don’t know what it is, don’t eat it!” :-)Hello to all my favorite friends who make me happy every day!! (I just wish we would hear from Aaron and Billy again… :-/)

Hi Cathyites!! I only buy fat-free or low-fat items when it doesn’t make any difference — and there are some times when it just doesn’t. I never buy sugar-free because I got really sick on diet pop years ago and then discovered it was full of aspertame — not good for you at all. I also cannot stand to get fat (like from meat) in my mouth — as my British hubby says “it turns me over” — it always did, even when I was a kid.

It starts small, but then it escalates.

And “it” could be a number of things.

    Just sayin’.

Hello, wonderful “Cathy” Clan. Aaron and Billy, we miss you and hope to hear from you soon.
