I remember reading a science-fiction short story about a man with eidetic memory, and he had similar problems. He kept constantly on the move so that he wouldn’t run into people he’d met before; never stayed anywhere very long. Sorry I can’t recall the title or author.
I have sympathy for Jamie. I have a better than average memory and, when I run into someone I was once friends with but I haven’t seen in a decade or so, have come to expect them to have almost no memory of me. I pretend I’m equally vague about them and move on.
