They also only do it for some channels.
It removes one of the major issues with satellite TV. Now if they could improve their content, they would remove the one more major issue and then all they would have left is the cost.

My mom left the TV on all night one time because the batteries in the remote died. She didn’t think to just walk over and turn it off.
