So, since NO murder can be prevented, ALL attempts at prevention immediately are void? Please apply that same “logic” to any other preventative measure people have enacted. For example, by this rationalization, we don’t need any law enforcement, since ALL crimes can’t be prevented.

Now for myself, I want a well-trained police force AND sensible legislation that would provide the police more safety and minimize the SCOPE of massacres that high capacity weapons allow. Would it solve everything? Of course not. But what law solves EVERY problem?

The gun didn’t do it, but the wide availability of those guns facilitated it.

No other modern democracy has our fetish for guns. And no other modern democracy has our firearms death rate. It’s not even close.

If Republicans don’t care about human life, then why are so many against abortions?

Rehashing previously posted facts. The AR-15 is not an assault rifle, it’s the most popular small game semiautomatic rifle for civilian use.

Long guns, which also include shotguns and bolt action rifles, are responsible for less than 3% of gun deaths annually. This is one of the reasons why many countries around the world will allow ownership of an AR-15 style rifle but will not allow handguns.

On the average, guns are used in over one million instances annually in preventing crimes. That’s the known cases, the actual number is estimated to be much higher as many cases of gun use against crime is unreported.

While annual gun death can be measured by the thousand 54% of them are suicides. Deaths among a disarmed populace by a dictatorial nation can be measured by the millions and tens of millions. Cambodia, the USSR, China, NAZI Germany etc. Putin is trying to improve on Russia’s death toll.

This ‘toon is spot on and absolutely correct. Gun violence is a people problem and not a gun problem.

Why were none of these recent killers in the NICS database? Many of these cases involved people with mental disorders who displayed violent behavior and should not have been allowed to purchase a weapon.

Enforce the laws currently on the books. Teachers, classmates, family members and friends of people showing violent and unstable behaviors need to report them to local law enforcement for an evaluation.

^ Interesting “info” about guns … Just remember: ‘Cannon ball don’t pay no mind if you’re gentle or you’re kind" — You’re still dead!

    But, “Thanks for the thoughts!”

Because that is what I was MADE for, you complete idiot. It is why I was MANUFACTURED, it is my PURPOSE. I was designed to kill as many people in as efficient way as possible. Men are TRAINED in my use. I am not a defensive tool, I am a tool of death.

In the hands of a professional I am a tool used to defend my nation and protect freedom and democracy. It is my purpose. I am used in moderation, with the minimum force necessary.

In the hands of a radicallized extremeist I can kills dozens of innocent people, young and old, white, black, whatever, man, woman, child. This is my pereverted, twisted purpose. To cause mayhem, bloodshed and madness.

I don’t care whose hands hold me. That is up to you.

If you restrict my use to professional I simply do my manufactured purpose.

If you allow anyone access to me I will kill you all. I will kill your loved ones, indescriminately and without passion. I am a machine. I do not care.

You are the ones who are supposed to care. And if you keep allowing the unfit, the ignorant, the sick and the twisted to have free access to me I will kill and kill and kill.

It is what I was made for. I am a tool of death.

The number of deaths during The Troubles in Northern Ireland, over a three year period, were considered a tragedy. We beat those numbers every week and, to the Republicans, it is … I don’t know; what is it?

Blaming the gun is easy, blaming us for creating a society this hateful, this lack of compassion, this lack of Wisdom, where opinion becomes facts and science is decided by a few months in the media is the problem. Take the guns, see if our lives our safer, government will crash down you door at every turn, guns will come up from Mexico. It will be worse. Gang leaders will become War Lords, police stations closed down and 911 will go dark.

How is it that a gun, which has the ability to kill several people in a very short amount of time, that our laws allow to be purchased easily by anyone who can pay the price for it, that is marketed for it’s killing power, be responsible for mass murder?

    I just don’t get it…

No one is blaming the gun. It is always the person using it. It’s the fact that guns are easily available, stupid. Sensible gun laws could stop that availability without keeping law-abiding citizens from being gun owners. The people yelping the loudest usually are having difficulty with a background check for a very good reason they don’t want to admit to.

I hope the independent readers here take a look at Zuhlamon’s rants and realize how far out they are in the ideological left field of lies, disinformation and propaganda. It’s far more likely that a left winger of Zuhl’s mindset would go go on a mass murder shooting spree. As I mentioned earlier, you don’t see NRA members doing this, they’re mostly left wing nut cases.

The gun doesn’t commit the murder, it makes the murderer more efficient.
