To the comments crew……Why do you on the “left” have to take the joy out of everything? There is no politics in this comic….just faith, hope, and peace. Myself, I celebrate Passover, but the message of Easter is universally touching, but not to some …..I suppose!
I grew up in a clergy family. The difference in what I was taught was that the message was the teachings Radish cites above, not the magic. In fact, my parents discounted much of the so-called miracles. For instance, they thought the “feeding of the masses” incident was because Jesus encouraged everyone to share what they had with them. They did not believe in h*ll because their concept of a loving god did not include that kind of judgemental actions. They could not imagine rejecting their own children and so could not imagine a god that did that. The whole thrust of their ministry was to help others live well with each other, to love each other. Dogma had no place in their lives. If people treated others well, they welcomed them, no matter who or what they were.

Too bad this does not work with shooting victims.

Hey Drivel, bigger miracle in the 21st century would be common sense gun laws in the US.

Our pasta, who art in a colander,
draining be your noodles.
Thy noodle come, Thy sauce be yum,
on top some grated Parmesan.
Give us this day, our garlic bread, …
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trample on our lawns.

I’m amazed that all the commentators so far are failing to see that this is a reference to Good Friday and Easter.

After his cartoon celebrating the deaths of the people in the Nashville shooting, I question Varvel’s God.

Hebrews 11:1 – “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.”
Authorization for absolute credulity, and the absolute stupidity it justifies.
