I notice Al’s list of ills on the paper doesn’t mention Ukraine. No mentions of the thousands for displaced people, hundreds of dead civilians, massive destruction of homes and infrastructure, but the status of the Russians, that’s what matters.
All the headlines have been in the news for decades. Pandora’s box has been opened and mere human beings are having a difficult time trying to come up with solutions… don’t forget plastic bits in every living being on earth, fires, floods, etc., pandemics, banning books, pushing women back into second class citizens, voter repression, trump’s delusions, magas making threats anonymously, and… climate change.
Games are too long? Solution— Don’t shorten the play, shorten the commercial breaks. You know, like before television and radio bloated the game with ads and self promos. Next they’ll try to “speed” up the NFL and college football.
About 15 – 20 years ago a baseball team made a deal with Hasbro wherein Hasbro would supply the team with a quantity of G. I. Joe action figures – the team’s first sergeant, airborne infantryman Conrad “Duke” Hauser – in special bags with the team’s logo; the figure itself was simply the same version as the most recent retail release, and the bag would be the only thing special. The first X number of kids who bought tickets to a July 4th game would get one of these figures for free.
Even though it would just be the figure with no accessories of any kind, let alone weapons, a large number of anti-war activists denounced the giveaway.
Al — Stand by for flak from knee-jerk Dems regardless of your stance vis-a-vis the Trump Affair — which has the stink of the Alfred Dreyfuss Affair of long ago.

Baseball isn’t a distraction; it’s the reason for it all.

I used to watch BB growing up with my uncles.
The game has changed, the rules have changed, the dress code has changed, …wait! There is no dress code!
They’re not the clean shaven, trimmed haired guys we used to watch. Same for any sport.
Their salaries are through the roof, and some have sketchy life styles….
Take me out to the ball game….buy me some peanuts and cracker jacks….

I don’t need a distraction. The GOP created all of those messes. I enjoy watching Biden clean them up.
