Celery is never delicious.

I get my catalogs in December now and had all my seeds by January. I usually get 1 packet of an item. I did get 4 packs of tomatoes, different varieties. 5 of cucumbers though?!! Is she going to start a pickle business? Seeds are still cheaper than buying plants if you are going to do 400 or so like I do. I do many for family and friends too.

I order seeds based on the cost of that particular produce at the local market. So far, I’ve only been planting parsnips, beets, and green beans. Everything else is very affordable, and I’ve only got so much garden space. ;P

How big is her garden and how many people is she planning on feeding?! That’s a lot of seeds!

She must want a huge garden….really big!

Celery is delicious with CheeseWhiz spread down the middle. CheeseWhiz is Canadian for cheese spread. It’s a Canadian thing. Only in Canada eh?

Whew, at least she didn’t zucchini.

We have a local hardware store that still sells seeds by the pound. A quarter of an ounce is about $.75. Much cheaper and more seeds than in packets.

With all the produce those seeds will potentially produce, in the end, will be cheaper than buying at the market!

When we first had our house we used to plant vegetables. Problem was that husband’s vacation was always when everything was starting to be ripe. When his dad was alive he would come by to check on the house, pick up mail etc and we told him to take whatever was ripe for him and MIL. After he died we stopped planting vegs as they would just rot while away. Since husband quit his job and we could plant again, we have had poison ivy and can’t get to the planting area.
