I doubt Lincoln was in much of a hand-shaking mood after being shot, Ida. Maybe Waldo was a weirdo who went to celebrity funerals to shake hands with them. They can’t really refuse at that point and it’s probably a very firm handshake. I’m going to assume Waldo also fought in the Civil War for the East, wearing an orange uniform, and eventually surrendered at Appomattox Court House to the Belgians.
Ha ha, Ida Noe, the creepy talking doll, seems to know a thing or two about shaking a dead person’s hand! You can cover her mouth all you want, but ultimately you cannot stop her.

Ida Noe attempts to ask a pertinent question while the brood is enthralled with a 2nd story rendering. Maybe Walt can change the order of events ?

The genes in this family? I wouldn’t be surprised to find that Walt’s great-grandfather shook hands with Abe Lincoln’s great-grandfather!
I mean if you go by the history of the strip, Lincoln’s assassination was only 30 years or so before Walt was born.

Where’s Waldo?

As far as I know, Lincoln did not do much (if any) hand shaking after his evening at the theatre in 1865.
