Exactly. They carefully avoid the ones who really need protecting, the abused and neglected, in favor of the imaginary.

The texas government is such a disgrace to human rights, civil right, voting rights, immigrants.

But how is this allowed to happen? No one even said guns were being banned and the MAGAts were foaming at the mouth about their rights. How many “patriots” did you hear screaming about freedom of speech? Many states are ACTIVELY taking rights away. WITAF is happening?

… And not the Brown ones, either.

Why does anyone have an issue with a law that prohibits minors from attending drag shows? Even my most leftist of leftist friends and fam think the whole drags Queens and kids movement is wrong.

The GOP is all about show… and tell… and very little indeed about fixing problems. They LIKE problems: worried people are more likely to vote conservative.

Not just Texas. Tennessee is following up with similar silliness.

Who will protect kids from them?

The TX GQP is not “protecting the children”. Hell, they are not even interested in protecting their citizens from chemical mishaps. They have no idea where most of the chemical plants are even located, much less what they are storing on site.

What they are doing is making up reasons to garner headlines for one reason, to get reelected. The TX Legislature is only in session for a few months every other year. Thus Getting reelected is their #1 priority. Imagining that something they do to shore up their MAGAt base, like passing culture war laws that fix purely imaginary problems, is “owning the libs”, is something the Texas GQP Super Majority does all the time.

Because they are, as a group, totally beholden to Big Business. The fewer regulation they put on any business, the more legal bribes aka “campaign contributions” they get. Deregulating businesses, followed closely by caving to the NAT Cs and turning women into 2nd class citizens who are not allowed to make any health decision for themselves. That is the Texas way.

Has the GQP ever voted to expand health care insurance for children? Have they not whined and moaned about food access programs? They have gone thumbs down on school lunch programs since the Regan admin. NOW they are all about protecting kids from a made up threat while saying out of the other side of their mouths that the government should let parents be the parents.

Nonsense.

Only drags kids should see is Bugs Bunny. Liked him as Brunehilde. So did Master of the Hunt, Hermann (Fatso) Goering.
