    The next time you hear some right-wing empty suit like Rick Scott go off about tort reform—insulating corporations like Norfolk Southern, the Sacklers, Peabody Coal, and the like—this is what he has in mind. The GOP exists to cut taxes on the wealthiest and to deregulate when the regulation will cost corporations money. Citizen safety and environmental protections are not what the GOP is about. Those not in the donor class get dog whistles, fear mongering, and artificial outrage.
