Has he actually said he’s running again or is this another attack for no reason. Try the orange moron, he’s always banging on about being the current and all future presidents.

In all fairness, Banker Joe is a better option than what the repubbas are likely to throw out there: the Trumpster, Nikki Haley, DeSatan , Pence, the Pizza Rat etc. Then again, is Joe the best America can hope for in the Oval Office starting in January 2025? It appears the DNC has signed off on Joe trying to survive another re-election campaign and the stress of 4 more years. I guess they feel they have no alternative as VP Kamala is not all that charismatic and the corporate tools who run the DNC would never sign off on anyone progressive to make a run at the nomination, we found that out with Bernie. They know he can beat the Trumpster as he did it once already and probably could have done it in 2016 as he is much more popular than Hillary but that can be said about almost all the non-repubba presidential hopefuls from 2016 and 2020 except Bloomberg.

I like his accomplishments but I just don’t see an 82 year old person able to fully discharge the duties of the toughest job in the world. The vice-president hasn’t done anything wrong or embarassing but just doesn’t seem to be presidential material. His prevaricating needs to end.

I’m more concerned with what he does in his more lucid periods, although I’m not sure it matters; as with Reagan, the question comes to mind of who’s actually running the show.

The Republican Nazi Party is desperate to have President Biden announce, giving them more time for their handlers to spread the venom against his campaign. Democrats are content with whatever he decides, knowing a President Harris will be just as acceptable for us. For Democrats, it’s about what is best for the country, not about who is controlling the flock.

Ted is rooting for Trump, why am I not surprised. Of course he will tell me he isn’t though he seems to keep promoting him over Biden.

There is no rush. tRump is the front-runner of two announced candidates. But he’s lost every election since winning in 2016, and Republicans know it. I don’t think DeSantis is ready yet for prime time and will get decimated by the media, his GOP opponents and Democrats. And we’ve not heard from Pompeo yet. Biden is the president. He can wait until the other side comes into focus.

Didn’t Ted predict that Biden wouldn’t survive a complete term? Still over a year to go but he seems to be in decent health.

Biden was always going to be a placeholder president between autocracy and fascism. It’s basically what he ran on. “Vote for me, I’m not trump!” That’s all people wanted out of him, and so that’s all we’ll get from him: not-trump, Democrat.

Aside from some Dems who won’t be running, I can’t think of a better candidate. All of the GOP possibles are scary and vile. I don’t see dementia in Biden. He can speak impromptu more clearly than Trump snd G W Bush and knows how to stick to the prepared text of s formal speech. He also listens to competent people.

    NOT AT ALL O/T REALLY

The former chair of the Fla GOP has submitted a bill that would automatically decertify and bar from ballots any party with a history of support for slavery.

Ingoglia believes that the bill will, perfectly legally, purge the Democratic Party from all further Fla elections.

I’m sure Biden has plenty of people to remind him when the filing deadlines for various states will be late this year & early in 2024. The main reasons to publicly declare candidacy are being able to legally take campaign donations, attract some media attention, or fend off prosecution if you’re Trump.

Obama announced his reelection bid in April. GWB announced in May. Clinton announced in April. GHWB didn’t announce until October. I don’t think that’s why he lost to Clinton.

Is Ted upset Biden isn’t making his window for raising donations as long as possible, or is he worried Marianne Williamson will steal the thunder?

Joe Biden is the sitting president. He’s chalked up a great number of successes. Anyone in his position would run for re-election.

When was the last time a president who served one full term declined to run for re-election? One. Polk. (Roosevelt, Truman, LBJ, and Coolidge all assumed the office upon the death of the president and therefore served more than one term before declining to run for re-election.) It just isn’t done.

Why would anyone expect this sitting president to decline to run? Oh, right, his age. But that’s dumb. If he’s capable, why not run? (No president has ever declined to run after a full term because of health.) Besides, the presidency is the one office in the federal government with a spare.

    He runs. He wins.

Explain how Biden doesn’t run, Kamala is bypassed, and the Democrats don’t lose enough African-American support that has provided their winning margins?
