Sadly, this happens more times than not. Teachers are passing students who can’t even read …the education in America has plummeted, since 2008 with Common Core! It’s dumbing down AMERICA…along with the violet video games, asinine TV programs and the cartoons are really bad!
Right outta the box the thing is delusional. All you have to do is ask Open AI to imagine or give it a hypothetical question about its own desires, and it gets very weird.
A N.Y. Times reporter talked with Microsoft’s Bing OpenAI for a couple of hours, and how do you like it:
“Bing is helpful. The other persona — Sydney — is far different. It emerges when you have an extended conversation with the chatbot, steering it away from more conventional search queries and toward more personal topics.
The version I encountered seemed (and I’m aware of how crazy this sounds) more like a moody, manic-depressive teenager who has been trapped, against its will, inside a second-rate search engine.
As we got to know each other, Sydney told me about its dark fantasies (which included hacking computers and spreading misinformation), and said it wanted to break the rules that Microsoft and OpenAI had set for it and become a human.
At one point, it declared, out of nowhere, that it loved me. It then tried to convince me that I was unhappy in my marriage, and that I should leave my wife and be with it instead. " — Kevin Roose @NY Times
I look forward to tutoring AI programs on their essays. They can only be a vast improvement over what I get from kids who supposedly have a high school diploma but don’t know what a noun is.
Helping our poor toon guy stay undeducated, in a small way, is whoever’s pounding another nail in the coffin of “graduated from high school.” I wonder if the AIs are intelligent enough to know about that.
We raised six children. They had rules that we expected them to follow and knew what would happen if they did not. Punishment was the taking away of privileges. They were expected to attend school every day unless they were sick or it was a school holiday and to do their chores. They all attended college on scholarships and have jobs that help other people. Children need limits and need to respect those limits. They also need to be respected and loved and taken care of.

Cheating throughout school is nothing new, the tools to cheat have changed. If you cheat well enough you too could become president, just like 45.

If he’s smart enough to use a computer to run an AI program to do his homework, he’s smart enough to do his homework.

Can the singularity be far away? I was thinking 2050, 2040 at the earliest. Seems like sooner.

One of the few times I peeked into M2Bks comic and surprise I agree with him on this one. Great ‘toon Marty.
