Kroger use to send a Rewards coupon every quarter, then they went totally online. I cut up their credit card.

They give you a five cents off per gallon (liter in Canada) coupon then raise the price of gas ten cents per gallon. Oil companies are NOT benevolent.

Way back in my day, he was paid by the gas station he worked for!

Some what related…. There’s a gas station near me where the price per gallon is far lower than all the other stations. But if I have to wait for more than one car ahead of me, it’s not worth it because the pumps are so slow. Last time I was there, I timed the output. 40 seconds per gallon.

This is why Costco rules. It takes precisely 9 seconds between getting out of my car, and starting to pump. One tap with my credit card and they’ve got my membership number and my payment and I’m off.
