“The genie is out of the bottle. We need to move forward on artificial intelligence development but we also need to be mindful of its very real dangers.
I fear that AI may replace humans altogether.
If people design computer viruses, someone will design AI that replicates itself. This will be a new form of life that will outperform humans.” — Professor Stephen Hawking
The real problem with artificial intelligence is that it is created by people who are – generally speaking – supposedly more intelligent than the average citizen, which makes the AI Chatbot probably way ahead of the average (and less than average) American. So of course it is dangerous, because it can probably out-think or at least out-perform most American citizens. The best way to protect society from AI would be to create an education system which truly teaches people to think, to be logical, and above all – to be aware of the manipulative tactics used against them by society’s leaders, be they politicians, religious leaders, or journalists! Once you can figure out for yourself when something is BS – you are already ahead of the game in many ways. Properly-educated people would have seen through Trump’s tactics which were extremely effective simply because he understood how to use the manipulative techniques of propaganda and marketing. If citizens were properly educated – the Trumpers of the world, not to mention the other charlatans and power-hungry elites who are dangers to everyone and even the planet – wouldn’t be able to control the narrative and the results so effectively.
I had the opportunity to interact with “Alexa” yesterday. I asked “her” if she was imperfect. The response: “I don’t know”. I’m still pondering that one.

Answering a question with a question. Reminds me of the old Eliza program. But with attitude.
