You get lonely. I’m and “only” and spent my childhood with a divorced mom who made me stay in the house while she worked. I couldn’t go out and play with the neighborhood kids. When I needed a sitter and had to go to my grandparents. They wouldn’t let me leave the house and go play. All I did was read.
