doesn’t everyone know the ending to every Law and Order episode? It is either the special guest actor whom you recognise, or the second person they interview if there are no famous guest stars. They’ll get away with it to the very end, until they have a breakdown on the stand thanks to one clever question and blurt out a full public confession. Chung-Chung.

Having no surprises would tend to take the fun out of a lot of things. That also explains our free will: the universe enjoys a good laugh.
