So someone coming into your home would want (need) to get refreshed. For very long distance travelers this might mean a bath and a new set of clothes. But bare minimum was to wash hands and feet. To add to being welcomed into a home – the water would be perfumed. Frankincense is an expensive perfume to present to a very honored guest. Just… don’t let them ingest frankincense – it will destroy kidneys.
