That is about it for most cursive writing especially doctors’ who took courses in illegible writing. Now it’s all on a laptop and slightly better.

The fact that 20-somethings and younger can’t read cursive was news to me just recently. I had taken some notes at work, and offered them to a new employee (22 years old), who said he couldn’t use them because he was not taught cursive. What?? Apparently they don’t teach kids how to read analog clocks, either. That’s how adults can take over the world: Write everything in cursive and hide all of the digital clocks. :D

I assume that these kids at least learned how to sign their names?

Cursive today for children is the same thing that parents used to do when they spelled words in front of their 3 year olds.

My neighbor was an USAF recruiter and said he would have to teach cursive so that they could sign their name. No printing or “X”.

Two hours? Hold my beer! Fifteen minutes after I wrote the darn thing I have no idea what it says. It is a good thing my mom insisted I take typing in HS. Been on the south end of a northbound keyboard since 1971.

I learned penmanship in school but lie everyone else I spend a lot of time on a keyboard.

When people see my handwriting they ask me if I’m a physician or a pharmacist.
