Here’s a question for Kari Lake, who said that if elected governor, she would not certify a presidential election that was “corrupt or stolen”: Who gets to decide if the election is stolen? Who is the final arbiter of that decision? Does everyone who loses from now on get to scream, “Stolen!”? In that case, there is no more democracy.

To put it in sports lingo, since that’s what Americans seem to care about most: If a referee calls a foul, and you disagree with it, do you as a player simply get to ignore the ref? If the ref misses a call, can a player scream, “That’s no fair!” and play as if the call had been made? If the ref ejects a player, can that player simply choose to stay in the game? And after all the supposed bad calls, a team loses, can they simply say, “We reject the outcome and declare ourselves the winner!”?

NO! Because if they had that ability, there would be no point to ever playing any games again, and no victory, no title would ever have meaning again. Without the final arbiters, there is. no system to make it work.

And the final arbiters of the 2020 election all declared unequivocally that Joe Biden won. So who does Kari Lake think the final arbiters of future elections will be? I know the answer — she wants to be the decider. She wants total control regardless of the will of the people.
