So we all agree, the media isn’t doing their job?

How much of the positive feelings here are a result of movies/Netflix series? Personally, I’ll never quite understand the deification of the royalty. Do people really believe that they are their betters?

Coverage of funerals is usually full of sweetness. After all, it’s never been considered good luck to sneer at caskets. “Don’t you laugh when the hearse goes by, for you may be the next to die.”

Whatever you feel about the royals, they are popular here, and the “media” — which of course includes more than the news — is in the business of talking about popular people. If people want to watch about the dead queen, all the various media who serve interested audiences will give them what they want. Look on the bright side … they could be talking about the Kardashians.
