This reminds me of the time my daughter and I went to get the new Harry Potter. I wasn’t going to go to a freaking midnight sale, so we went the next afternoon only to discover that the story had already sold out!
But….
The manager recognized me as regular shopper and offered to sell me her copy of the book! She saved the day but I was kind of surprised/embarrassed that she recognized me as a regular,

It’s only valid for today, and they have to get through the line before they can redeem it. And the place closes before they can get there.
