The greens keepers put down a slip and slide.

He WAS safe, but not at the moment.

That appears to be (have been) first base.

You should (almost) never (have to) slide into first base.

Why? I’m on a roll…..

Not that such semantics have any meaning or relevance to comics, humor, or any other aspect of reality…but does it look to anyone else that he’s sliding FROM first base down the 1st base line into the outfield??

Those Teflon jerseys are a bad idea.

I’ve never seen a ball diamond with a running path beyond first base. A foul line, yes, but not a running path.

And they say to this day hes still sliding…

By the time he gets to the outfield wall, they’ll be nothing left of him.

Looks like his brakes failed.

Pretty rare to slide into first. (Oops – another serious comment)

Doug’s right, extremely rare! I seen it a time or two in nearly seventy years of watching baseball!

Is it just me, or are the foul lines incorrect? from the placement of them, it looks more like he’s sliding into home.
