Maybe Rall shops for the wrong things? Or maybe it’s just that we live on the left coast. Yes, there are some things missing, off and on. But so far, by looking forward a couple or three weeks, we’ve missed out on only low salt Wheat Thins… and that only for a couple of weeks. We don’t shop for baby formula, though, so it might be a bit tougher here, now.

Well that what happens when there’s a shortage

Deal with it other third world countries have I often so feel their pain

you should shop at Safeway, all of their shelves are full.

Went to buy a bottle of ketchup, disappointingly the grocery only had a dozen options.

I have never seen empty shelves…ever…where the H-ell do these people shop?

Ted needs to shop at a better store or a cheaper store. In any case the only thing I had trouble finding this year was egg noodles. That was hardly a dire problem. The shelves are stacked to the ceiling, literally, at one place I go to.

Maybe more prescient than a commentary on actual current conditions? Global Warming could make this scenario all too real and happen fairly soon.

An awfully conservative blindness you are adopting there, Ted. Things are getting better here in post-COVID America.

I usually find the resident Rall-bashers completely wrongheaded, but I, too, experienced only a trivial version of shortages, and only for about two weeks. Maybe it’s a metaphor for The US’ great intellectual and spiritual vacuum?

No one goes there anymore…its too crowded.

There were some boxes in Florida for sale until the FBI confiscated them.

The Subway closed 11 minutes before it was supposed to.

Where I live I see no empty shelves in any stores. In grocery stores, I find a more limited selection of junk food, but no empty shelves. Real food is plentiful, and lots of it is on sale.

There are still shortages at my local Walmart. Have a great day y’all.

It all depends on when and were you shop , the only things I see in short supply is Baby Formula and certain types of Pasta, otherwise if you shop Wally-World on or after " Check Day " we’ll ya your going to see empty shelves and low stock !

We were camping in a New York State Park in early June, and had to go into town for some supplies.

Little town, maybe 5,000 population, and only one grocery store. The shelves were full, and there was a surprisingly broad selection of products.

We’re in Indianapolis, close to 1,000,000 population, and, yes, there are lots of holes on the shelves, along with higher prices.

New York: Democratic legislature, Democratic governor. Indiana: Republican legislature, Republican governor.

Now if I were into conspiracies….

Ted, I didn’t expect you to take me seriously when I asked when you were doing a ’toon on inflation.

The lack of honesty in these comments is remarkable. As long as they have egg beaters, soy milk and tofu they don’t have any issues. Here in Kali we have holes everywhere but it is a first world problem, we have plenty of the worlds best Weed with the outdoor crop coming in next month.

There are warehouses bursting at the seams. But companies don’t want to pay truckers upfront because they are “independent contractors”. The companies set-up the “just in time” mode of shipping that doesn’t support a supply chain unless it works “perfectly” which means that the workers have to always be available and willing to work for peanuts.

Yeah, this is sorta true kinda. So? Low supply with steady (or increased) demand creates inflation. Econ 101.
