Because it’s a Chinese hoax. Or a Democratic hoax.

    Or something.

    .

Global warming was disproved when a Republican Senator tossed a snowball onto the Senate floor. In April!

Everyone with Trump Disciple analysis skills knew global warming was a hoax right then and there.

Who first described global warming? Svante Arrhenius (1859-1927) was a Swedish scientist that was the first to claim in 1896 that fossil fuel combustion may eventually result in enhanced global warming. https://www.lenntech.com/greenhouse-effect/global-warming-history.htm

Because politics is going in one direction while society is going in the other. How is it that what the majority of the people want doesn’t become law?

Maybe it’s because too many people either don’t vote or are convinced that what’s good for the politicians is good for them.

Some people have been trying to act on it for a long time. But those who are making money on destroying the atmosphere are very powerful and have put a lot of their own minions into decision-making positions. They will continue to destroy the environment until human life is no longer sustainable and then, with their last breaths, they will whine about how they are victims and someone should have done something.

Did Moscow Mitch go to KY to offer aid? I’m surprised he hasn’t gone to Moscow to offer aid to Putin.

Because Congress didn’t learn anything from the tobacco lobby that owned 70’s-80’s. (Read “The Emperor of All Maladies”).The fossil fuel lobby has been using the same tactics with even greater success. Most Americans seem to believe people with lots of money are telling the truth when they disagree with scientists.

We tend to wait until things get really bad before making a stand. We need to be more proactive and not reactive. Fortunately, the support of Ukraine is a proactive move. Had we done something like this in the 30’s we might’ve avoided WWII. In fact, had Europe been less involved in punishing Germany after WWI, and taken Wilson’s advice to found the League of Nations then WWII wouldn’t have needed even a proactive move in the Sudetenland. So, too, with climate change we have a case of massive denial. And we’re still waiting for a really major catastrophe to force our action. But, then, it might be too late. Even now, there are some climate scientists that suggest we may have already gone past the point of no return. But, most scientists hold out hope that change on a global scale might just be the trick to stop this climate change before it gets worse.

The Environmental and Energy Study Institute found that the US government alone spends $20 billion every year on direct fossil fuel subsidies. Of that figure, around $16 billion goes towards oil and gas, while the remaining $4 billion benefits the coal industry.

Because even those who pretend to care about the climate throw a tantrum when, say, the price of gasoline or meat goes up. For most people, concern about the environment ends as soon as they suspect that solutions might involve an iota of sacrifice. As easy as it is to find fault with politicians, their unwillingness to take meaningful action on climate change is a direct reflection of the behavior of the populace.
