You know, you could swap Dee Dee with Francis or Teddy in this arc, and nothing would be different.

Dee Dee’s reaction to the broken vase would have been a lot more dramatic than Nate’s and probably could have brought in some laughs, but instead, they make her act modestly alarmed and that’s about it.

only solution: find 200 dollars before the week ends. also yeah that face has gone way beyond stale

This arc is really milking the “Funny face” humor for the sake of joke shortcuts.

I mean, maybe things will work out? Seems like either everything will somehow be fine, or Nate and Dee Dee will get detention despite it being summer for them. What might be interesting is if they tried to get Gina to help them, because she knows so much about getting on teachers’ good sides, or something like that. It’ll probably end up being one of the first two, though.

Time for Nate to do a yard sale or something (either than a GoFundMe webpage) in order to help cough up $200.

The sad part is he isn’t wrong: While his plan was bad and he should feel bad, she somehow ceases to remember that Mrs. G doesn’t like him and would assume he did it on purpose or snooping around . I could be wrong, but I get why he woudln’t really trust her good will with the mutual animosity between them.

She’ll understand. Sure, she’ll get mad but she’ll understand. And when did he care about what Mrs Godfrey thinks of him?

3/10 The “he’s laughing because of something else” joke is incredibly boring.

Drama Queen Dee Dee is the voice of reason in this arc.

Nate, tell Mrs.. Godfrey the truth. What’s the worst that could happen? You would probably get detention. It’s not the end of the world.

Well, at least he wasn’t forced to buy the vase!

There’s not much I can say about this comic, except RIP Nate. I feel like this arc is elongated much more than it has to be. Here’s today’s quote:
