Well, several rules in the NBA rulebook were changed because of Mr Russell’s great play. Led his college team to consecutive NCAA titles, led Team USA to Gold in the 1956 Olympics in Sydney, led the Celtics to the Finals 12 out of 13 years, winning 11. Lakers were losers in 7 or 8 of those finals, Hawks were in 4 and the Warriors in 1. Overall the Celtics are 17 – 5 in the Finals. I loved watching the Playoffs when Mr Russell would give the commentary. “Football is a collision sport, basketball, like dancing, is a contact sport.” “That’s a good basketball move.”

Bill was the greatest basketball player ever. LeBron and Jordan aren’t close. Nichelle was a television icon and a classy person.
