Biden will announce after the midterms. “Look, I view myself as a bridge, not as anything else. There’s an entire generation of leaders you saw stand behind me. They are the future of this country.” March 9, 2020
The poll points out the basic absurdity of the American form of choosing a president – ignoring for a moment the stupidity of the electoral college (stuck in the American political by shadow supporters of George III, I suspect), practically, Americans are given an “either/ or” choice which, recently has been a case of which kind of poison you’d prefer.
Until we get rid of this ridiculous way of electing our leaders and go to something better like the English “parliamentarian” system we’re screwed.
The “founding fathers” did not trust the great unwashed masses of the electorate to make proper decisions on their leaders, so they fixed it so that the “real” choices would rest with the powerful and the monied. The 17th Amendment attempted to correct this gross oversight but only went half-way.

Let me fix this:
Do you want Trump, a Republic (if you can keep it), or a root canal?

Or the third option: A republican. I still take the root canal.

Paul von Hindenburg won his reelection as president at age 84 and that turned out okay for his country, didn’t it?

Good answer. Giving us someone to vote for is not their job, that’s the job of the corporations and billionaires that own congress.
