He owns and is owned by coal. And he runs as a Democrat in a state that has never elected any other Democrat for any office that matters to the electors. And he’s irreplaceable and he KNOWS it. And his ego’s at least as big as that of any other politician. Oh, and it would be extremely difficult to care less than he does about the folks who elect him time after time.
I see that TX has a plague of locusts due to the heat that is fake news. I wonder if the flies are next. Of course the rivers are disappearing, so easily crossed for people wanting to escape.
We should all start calling and sending letters to his office that should encourage his workers to find jobs elsewhere. Point out that his family money is from coal and his son is continuing the “family business”. Point out that after JM helped push through a bill to mandate EpiPens at schools, his daughter (CEO of pharma company) raised the price by 300%.
Add in that the coal industry had promised that they would restore the mountains and trees that they damaged when they ripped off the tops to get to the coal. Then many of those coal companies declared bankruptcy and POOF – obligations and promises are GONE.
So, where’s the coal for fuel? My hometown of worthless Wilkes-Barre stopped producing anthracite a half century ago, but the prevailing attitude is living in the 1930’s. So I call it the Catholic West Virginia, and am quite happy to have left after the third time over a quarter century ago. The only use we ever had for coal outside of fuel was to put the ashes on the ice.

His primary income is from coal. And he’s addicted to that cash flow.

manchin … just another greedy bahstahd, who can’t conceive his own mortality.

He loves the lifestyle to which he has become addicted, selfish unethical jerk. To heck with his constituents and the rest of the world.

I’m well on my way to agreeing with my husband that all politicians are self serving crooks.

He’s certainly not alone. A supermajority of politicians worldwide are worse than Nero, not just fiddling whle the world burns, but stoking the fire.

The two Joe’s get along very well, except when it comes to rolling back CO2 levels.

If Puerto Rico and DC (America’s last colony, still practicing taxation without representation) were states, Manchin would be completely irrelevant.
