No, you’re going to need the equivalent of a Republican senator’s grandchild as a victim to get anything started on that side. And just one won’t necessarily do it.
As long as we are forced to the right-wing philosophy that playing with guns and playing with other’s lives is a protected right, We and our families have no rights.
Look at the bright side.. jobs for lawyers; florists; lobbyists; psychiatrists; undertakers; gun manufacturers; news reporters.. and unpaid armchair critics.
Considering all of the elements that contribute to mass shootings: mental health (could it be said that anyone wishing to harm someone fits the definition of “mentally ill”?), family history, social background, ethnic heritage, age, race, etc., there is only one element that is common to each and every one of them:
Guns.
I guess there’s a reason why it’s called “the ELEPHANT in the room”. Republicans feel that love of guns and the potential futures of fetuses are more important than the established lives of real people. Culture of life, my foot.
Yeah right! What makes you think there’s ANY limit to the atrocities the gun crazies will tolerate? Who needs Putin and his terror tactics-we have the NRA and all of its a$$ kissers
Carlson’s opening monologue was the mass shooting at a Fourth of July parade outside of Chicago on Monday. He condemned Democratic elected officials and people on social media for “leap[ing] in to blame the other team” — that is, the political right — for what occurred … and then, in the first minutes of his show after the shooting, proceeded to blame the other team for the mass killing. Democratic legislators and officials were derided and mocked as ignorant or out-of-touch, because this is what he does.
“The first question a partisan asks never changes,” Carlson said at one point. “It’s this: How can I use other people’s misery to become more powerful myself?”
This is called “telling on yourself.”
Carlson’s monologue included an effort to tie mass shootings to prescription drug use, which probably will be a focus of much criticism. It’s not worth parsing the rickety rhetoric Carlson assembled to boost this claim; it collapsed even as Carlson offered it, and none of his loyal viewers will be reading this, anyway.
We can, instead, point out the incoherence of the claim even in its broad strokes. The alleged shooter in Illinois, Robert Crimo III, “seemed like a nut case,” Carlson asserted, judging by a photograph of the suspect. A number of other mass shooters were similarly “crazy,” he diagnosed. And then, ominously, he noted that several were known to have been on anti-depressants at the time of the shootings. He was operating in his standard “just asking questions” mode, the way he whitewashes his conspiracy theories to make them seem more intellectual. But the implication was obvious: Maybe it wasn’t the guns but the drugs.
Never mind that anyone stopping for even a moment might think, “Isn’t it more likely that the common root here was mental illness, not the treatment for it?”
dead babies and kids made orphan are just the ‘cost of doing business’ for the lyin ted cruz’s and moscow mitch mcconnel’s…and the rest of the repulslicans…..
It’s abysmal the lying disinformation and propaganda spewed forth here by the left wingers. In fact they don’t really care the deaths at all, they never have. These tragedies are nothing more than political fodder to be used as Democrat opposition talking points.
So let’s look at opposite point in gun usage other than crimes. Ask how many deaths, maimings, rapes, robberies and other acts of violence do they PREVENT? DOJ estimates that on the average, guns are used to prevent and deter approximately two million crimes every year. 2,000,000+ every year. Balance that against the number of gun deaths per year. Regarding AR-15s, they represent less than 1% of gun deaths being a subset of ‘long rifles’ which are responsible for 3% of gun deaths. The problem isn’t AR-15s. How about we stop this nonsensical debate on gun control, bans, repressive laws and confiscation and ENFORCE the laws already on the books? This young thug had a history of violent threats on and off line, had the cops called on him and was referred for mental evaluation. All this should have been in the NICS database. His father should also be charges as an accessory as he helped him to obtain those weapons. Stop letting violent criminals out of prison because of liberal SJW policies. There’s a lot to be done working within the rules, regulations and laws that already exist. Yammering about new laws, harassing and demonizing legal law abiding citizens is nonproductive at best and destructive to political discourse on the subject at the worst.
From now on, I’m going to assume everyone I meet is armed. This includes everyone I know, talk to or see you in a store. It goes without saying that this includes inconsiderate drivers.
The Republicans don’t think it’s enough. All they offer is “Thoughts and Prayers.” “Now’s not the time to talk about gun control laws.” “People should just move on with their lives.” That’s all Republicans have to offer. No solutions, as the NRA puts too much money into their campaigns to allow them to support real legislation that could make a real difference.
The current legislation, will take time to fully implement. Much as it will save some lives, it is not strong enough legislation to save more.
87% of Homicides in America are drug/gang related. Criminals (and the mentally ill – see “mass shootings”, all were on SSRI meds) tend not to follow laws.

No, Scott; the shootings, like the beatings, will never stop. They are too numerous now, and are running the country.
