Bush has done so much to destroy the reputation of the U.S. in the eyes of the world, they will never forget what he did to destabilize our allies. The carping is both appropriate and necessary. “W” may escape justice in America. He won’t overseas.

Thanks, W., for setting a standard previously held only by Warren Harding. And HOWGOZIT, Bush got us respected by whom? No one I can see. “I can see Putin’s soul.” Optical illusion. “They’ll greet us with flowers.” Yeah, with bombs inside. We had to pay other countries to support Bush’s “crusade.”

*Wipes away tears of mirth, “Erm, no.” :-|

The truth is that by not being Bush Obama has brought us a step closer to peace.

Bush’s (Cheney’s really) foreign policy was to threaten everyone, but do nothing, except to try to figure out how to blame someone else for Iraq.

The bad guys could see that even a small country like Iraq, and a non-country like Afghanistan, could tie us down while they were free to do what they wanted. It is hard to fear a “policeman” who is shouting at you when he can even control the one person he has caught.

With W., the World forgot that there are non-warmongering americans in this day and age. The next president, no matter who he could have been, was bound to be seen as a relief.

Peace is not pulled out a hat – war is easy, peace is hard because to have peace you must have some (sometimes very little) level of trust, and trust only comes after a slow building process.

I don’t know who said it, but it’s true: you need two to make peace, and only one for war.

agreed you need a winner and a loser for peace…..peace is the resuly of victory…the V of the vietnam peace sign comes from the V of the WWII victory sign
