My grandfathers were both gone by the time I was born. So no sweet memories being with them and doing simple things as jumping in puddles. My two girls were very lucky to spend time with their grandfathers when they were little. Golfing with their paternal grandfather and making life long friends with grandpa’s golfing partners, picking raspberries and fresh veggies out of the huge garden he kept, and playing cribbage and other board games.

Someone got hurt at the old gravel pit so they put up a fence and signs. Danger, Keep Out.

Many kids spent more time in mud puddles than in swimming holes. Splash by stomping was more fun for some.

The place where one of the houses I lived in is now a parking lot/basketball court.
