80% of the TV shows we watch during the day over the past 2 + years (during the pandemic) are either cooking or restaurant shows – and they are all old reruns – but he loves them.
Even worse more recently the channel that reran the same 3 or 4 RV shows all day is no longer on – apparently out of business – so he watches the cooking shows even more.

Sometimes the cooking shows give you ideas of what to eat, not what to cook. It doesn’t hurt if the scenery is nice too.
