Once again: The point of banning abortions is NOT to reduce their number. Contraceptives, sex education, access to health care and other efforts, would accomplish that.
That is NOT the objective.
The objective is to PUNISH SINNERS, women sinners, and especially poor women sinners. (of course, being poor shows that they are not in God’s graces and are therefore sinners anyway)
Instead of being outraged about the American Taliban eliminating women’s rights, they are mad that someone let us know they were doing it ahead of time.
To be honest, this court needs to be taken down. It is corrupt, contains justices who are rated “unqualified” by the ABA, is politically motivated, and is destroying people’s lives to aid one political party.
Leftists excel at this kind of tactic. We now know that certain parties were aware of the leak over the weekend and that Politco received the leaked draft and was releasing a story. I was getting letters from dems trying to raise money off this leak within 30 minutes of it hitting the news. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that Politico had the draft and that dems and DNC were ready to go the moment the story broke.
“Disgraceful to have leaked!” And it affects all and not just Republicans or Democrats. The leak was a violation of trust and integrity yet the Dems focus on an unfinished ruling in the works, judging and blaming repubs for an incomplete decision still in discussion, rather than condemning the cowardly treason of violating the security of that process. Dems never let a crisis go to waste or the opportunity to control or dismantle the supreme court.

A Republican theme on abortions: ’It’s OK for me, evil for thee’
Meet Scott Lloyd, the head of the Office of Refugee Resettlement; in theory he’s responsible for supporting refugees build a better life in America by providing them with financial and medical assistance. Under previous administrations, this included abortion services. But we live in a God-fearing America now, and Lloyd has made it his mission to ensure refugee women, including unaccompanied minors, don’t get abortions. He even blocked a 17-year-old-girl who had been raped from having an abortion. “The child – the one who is destroyed – is not an aggressor,” he argued in a report. No Scott, the child isn’t an aggressor; you are.
Lloyd joins an illustrious list of Republicans whose stance on abortion is basically: “It’s OK for me; evil for thee.” Earlier this year, for example, it emerged that Elliot Broidy, the former RNC deputy finance chairman paid $1.6m to a Playboy Playmate he had an affair with, after she aborted his child.
Then there is Tim Murphy, the pro-life Pennsylvania Republican who resigned last year after it was revealed he had urged his mistress to consider an abortion. And let’s not forget the charming Scott DesJarlais. According to testimony during his divorce trial, the Tennessee congressman supported his ex-wife’s decision to get two abortions before their marriage. The former doctor also allegedly pressured a 24-year-old patient he was having an affair with to get an abortion. Even after all that information came out DesJarlais still had the gall to vote for anti-abortion bills and boast of having a “100% pro-life voting record."
The leak is not the problem. The crazy conservative hack opinion that does not reflect the wishes of about 80 percent of Americans that are for choice is the problem.
What sank the Supreme Court was not a leak (there have been other leaks in the past, but since they were by right wingers, it was okay); it was their abandonment of precedent. They argue that overturning precedent itself has precedent — but before it was only to GIVE rights that hadn’t been recognized, never to take away rights.
Now, I haven’t read the decision/opinion, so I’m only going by second-hand reports, but it seems Alito is arguing that because abortion was not enumerated in the constitution as a right, it therefore has no protection. Of course, neither does the constitution anywhere grant rights to fetuses, let alone zygotes. If being mentioned in the constitution is a prerequisite for being allowed, there are a lot of rights that are going to be taken away.
But I think I may have to sue because it’s a violation of my religious liberty. See, my denomination — and many others, not to mention many other religions — see nothing wrong with prayerfully considered abortion. It is, therefore, a religious right to get one. And yes, that has been published denominational policy for years. I mean, if people can argue that being made to wear a mask or get a (very specific) vaccine violates their religious liberty, then I can argue that being forced to NOT get abortion would violate the religious liberty of a woman belonging to any one of those religious traditions.

Incorrect due to ignorance or you are deliberately lying. This leak is unprecedented throughout the over 200 year history of the SCOTUS. That is one of the reasons it’s such a big thing and making waves across the nation. Up to now the has never been a leak from either the left or the right. Given the recent history of leaks on the left this has become the M.O. of the Democrat party. Want a comparison? Look at the number of leaks during the Mueller investigation contrasted by the Durham investigation which has had virtually zero leaks.

No matter who leaked it, I’m upset that Politico didn’t have the integrity to keep it under wraps. Some people will do anything for the cash.
